Have you ever wanted to do something so bad but you are too afraid to, because of how the world may perceive you? For instance, I’ve always wanted to jump into a water foundation, why? Because I saw it on the tv show Friends. Nevertheless, I’ve always wanted to do it but I never have, because I am afraid of how others will react. But why is that? Why do we fear to do the things that make us feel alive? We have one life to live and we have to live it like no one is watching.
Life is too short. My first 23 years on this earth have flown by. Unfortunately, with age we begin to become more aware of how precious and short life is. Young lives are being taken everyday. That being said, no matter how old you are, it is never too late to say “I am going to live life to the fullest,” because tomorrow is never promised.
It took me a long time to accept the fact that not everyone is going to like me. I used to take it very personally, to the point where it began to affect me mentally. I would do everything in my power to fit in. I would act differently, buy clothes I wouldn’t normally wear, even talk differently just to fit in. But thats not a healthy nor a happy lifestyle. You are uniquely yourself and you are beautiful. So you beautiful human, get up and go live your best life.
If you want to jump in a foundation, go ahead. Please don’t get arrest or do anything illegal, but don’t be afraid to live your life and experience all of the wonders life has to offer. Someone will always be out there judging you, always. They will judge you simply because you breath air. Never let them get to you, because they will do nothing but try to dull your sparkle.
When I was finally able to accept that as a fact, I began to notice my social anxieties began to disappear. I became less worried about trying to fit in and began my self discovery journey. I spent so many years trying to pretend to be someone I wasn’t, to the point that I lost myself. If you can relate to this, then I challenge you to work to rediscover who you are and to begin to live life like no one is watching. Because tomorrow is never promised, remember that. So dance, laugh, sing, smile, and enjoy the one life you have live.
